We’re a Belgian family of four, currently on the adventure of our lifetime – called #365daysofsummer.
On August 1st, 2024, we took our backpacks and left for a year-long-trip around the world.
But who are we?
Suzanne: The Creative Voyager
Meet Suzanne, our 40-year-old bundle of creativity and enthusiasm! With a passion for discovering hidden gems, whether it’s a quaint coffee shop or a stunning piece of architecture, Suzanne’s love for travel knows no bounds.
When she’s not exploring new places or appreciating art, you’ll find her diving into a good book, enjoying a glass of fine wine, or spending time with friends. As a communication expert at Coca-Cola in Europe in daily life, and an avid Taylor Swift fan, she’s the mastermind behind our wild ideas and the driving force of #365daysofsummer. While she might have a touch of the luxury princess in her, Suzanne is ready to embrace a year of simplicity and adventure.
Vincent: The Master Planner
Say hello to Vincent, the 43-year-old marketing director for Toyota & Lexus in his daily life, and the meticulous planner of our epic journey.
A seasoned traveler on his third world trip, Vincent’s love for reading, sports, and history fuels his desire to explore new horizons. When he’s not busy organizing our itinerary, he’s either being active or uncovering historical tidbits to share with us. Vincent’s knack for planning ensures that every step of #365daysofsummer is seamless, allowing us to focus on making memories.
From Belgium to beyond, he’s the rock that keeps our adventure on track.
Nola: The Dancing Dreamer
Introducing Nola, our vibrant 8 and a half-year-old who brings joy and energy wherever she goes. With a passion for singing, dancing, and perfecting her cartwheels, Nola is always the life of the party. She cherishes her time with friends and loves swimming and discovering new places.
While she might miss her buddies back home, Nola is ready to embrace the adventures of #365daysofsummer with open arms. Her infectious enthusiasm and curiosity make every day a new experience, and she’s eager to see what the world has in store for her.
Matteo: The Curious Explorer
Last but certainly not least, meet Matteo, our (very;-)) energetic 4-year-old with an insatiable curiosity. Whether he’s running, jumping, or cuddling, Matteo’s zest for life is contagious. He loves listening to music and is always ready for a new adventure.
Although he’s a bit concerned about missing his birthday gifts and the comfort of his own bed, Matteo’s excitement for spending time in the pool and exploring with the family outweighs his worries. With his boundless energy and inquisitive nature, Matteo is all set to make the most of #365daysofsummer.
Why a blog?
Our goal is simple: to share our adventures across the countries we visit. We aim to recount our experiences, emotions, and what we’ve lived through in each place. We want to make you live these unique moments through our eyes, and perhaps even inspire you to embark on your own adventure.
If you’re looking for a blog filled with practical tips by country, hotel and restaurant rankings, then this is probably not the place for you. Here, we prioritize authentic and personal stories. We will tell you about the highlights, the unexpected discoveries, the memorable encounters, and sometimes even the challenges we face along the way.
